Around 38,000 patients of UChicago Medicine’s medical group may have had their personal data revealed in a cybersecurity breach. The breach occurred in July through debt collection agency Nationwide Recovery Service, a vendor for the group. The exposed information could include names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and medical-related data. The medical group has terminated its relationship with the vendor and notified affected individuals.
