Inflammatory diseases don’t boost clotting risks post-COVID, study reveals

A Canadian study has found that patients with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) do not have a higher risk of venous thromboembolism events post-recovery from severe COVID-19 infections than patients without IMIDs. However, certain comorbidities might complicate this association, hence the need for doctors to consider individual risk factors when treating IMID patients for COVID-19 complications.
