Indonesia’s biggest Islamic bank says customer data safe amid reports of breach

Indonesia’s largest Islamic lender, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), is working on strengthening its cybersecurity following reports that 15 million customers’ account details were published online. The Financial Services Authority of Indonesia is conducting a forensic examination regarding the data breach. The bank has assured that its customer’s data, funds and transactions are safe, adding that it had resolved recent disruptions to financial services like ATM withdrawals and online banking.
