India’s CERT Given Exemption From Right To Information Requests

India’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has been granted immunity from the nation’s freedom of information queries, known as Right To Information (RTI) requests. The reasons for this are unexplained but follow criticism of CERT-In’s decision in April 2022 to require businesses to report cybersecurity incidents within six hours of detection, a measure inconsistent with global reporting standards.
