The server and backup drive of Cancer Services of East Central Indiana-Little Red Door were hacked by cybercriminal organization TheDarkOverlord (TDO). TDO demanded a ransom of 50 bitcoin ($43,000) and threatened to leak the data of thousands of cancer patients. Cancer Services refused to pay the ransom and is working with the FBI to rebuild the stolen data. The agency’s Indianapolis branch was unaffected by the attack.
