India-specific big cancer database goes live

India has launched its first comprehensive cancer multi-omics database, the Indian Cancer Genome Atlas (ICGA), which focuses on cancer biology in the Indian population. The open-access portal currently includes data from 50 breast cancer patients and will expand to over 500 by next year. This initiative aims to advance personalized cancer treatments tailored to India’s unique genetic and environmental factors. The ICGA promotes ethical data sharing for global research collaboration.
