Increased cyber risks redefining the CISO

Increased cyber risks and recent breaches have made cybersecurity a top priority for board members. Many healthcare leaders are looking to reshape security strategy and budgets in response. A recent research project identified three types of chief information security officers (CISOs) effectively innovating their firms’ cybersecurity practices. They focus on implementation, attacker’s viewpoint, or risk-based development. Even the average CISO is transforming cybersecurity, using frameworks to create risk analyses and reporting to cybersecurity oversight boards.
