Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs has been using AI and analytics to reduce no-shows at outpatient appointments. The technology, applied to the ministry’s 30 hospitals and care centres, uses machine learning to harness electronic health data and predict which patients are most likely to miss their appointments. The AI system then alerts physicians, who can send reminders to patients or re-book appointments. The system does not require clinical data from patients.
