OSF HealthCare is investing $17.8m to expand its St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois, from 148 beds to 177. The aim is to meet growing inpatient demand from a rapidly expanding local population, according to interim president Jennifer Ulrich. The addition of 25 beds has been approved; approval for three further beds is awaited. The expansion should begin in 2024, with patients starting to benefit by the end of 2026.
