Over 3 terabytes of confidential data from NHS Dumfries and Galloway have been released on the dark web following a cyber attack. The leaked content includes extensive SQL database backups with critical system and patient information. Other exposed documents contain details about patient treatments and vulnerable population data. The integrity of operational data, such as staff leave records, is also jeopardised. NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s CEO has described the incident as “an utterly abhorrent criminal act.”
