How Russian cyber attack on NHS harmed patients and halved blood test capacity

A Russian cyber attack on NHS provider Synnovis in June left hundreds of thousands of blood tests unavailable and put nearly 300 patients at risk. The attack disrupted operations across hospital trusts and primary care centres in south-east London, leading to over 10,000 cancelled appointments and nearly 2,000 postponed operations. The Russia-based hacking group, Qilin, is suspected to have been behind the attack. The extent of the data stolen remains undisclosed.
