However, the rapid growth of IoT in healthcare poses various unintended consequences and risks. Patty Nichols, an IoT expert, warns that IoT-linked machines are vulnerable to hackers and require frequent updates. Hospitals should perform due diligence on vendors and involve IT security in the decision-making process to address vulnerabilities. Additionally, caregiver smart screens and RFID-equipped cabinets can also introduce risks if not properly secured and managed.
