Signed into law in March 2010, its main goal is to expand insurance access, thus providing medical assistance to millions of uninsured and low-income Americans. It also made changes in healthcare billing services, focusing on expensive billing services and strict policies, revolutionizing the system’s accessibility, affordability, and patient-centeredness. Despite bringing challenges to providers, it has significantly reduced the cost of healthcare for patients.
