How are ultra-processed foods affecting your brain health?

Eating ultra-processed or highly altered foods, such as chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and sweetened breakfast cereals, can increase the risk of a stroke and cognitive impairment, according to a study published in Neurology. Conversely, consuming more unprocessed or minimally processed foods can help lower this risk. These ultra-processed foods also heighten the risk of heart disease, obesity, and Type 2 diabetes.
