House subcommittee holds hearing on cybersecurity vulnerabilities in legacy medical devices

The House Energy and Commerce Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee has held hearings to discuss cybersecurity risk in aging medical devices. Experts alerted about the danger these pose as the hardware tends to outlast the software. Even though no known public attacks have been recorded so far, the risk showed by studies could affect not only patient safety but also national security.
