A recent survey conducted by Epocrates states that the majority of hospital CFOs are planning to adopt new technology in response to Medicare cuts. These cuts are a result of the CMS decision to halt reimbursements to hospitals for the treatment of potentially avoidable surgical site infections following cardiac device implantation procedures. The survey also found that hospital CFOs consider the financial impact of these cuts to be very important and most plan to use internal reporting measures to reduce the incidence of these infections.
