Home Office was warned about NHS cyber hacks months before Kremlin-backed attack

The UK Home Office was warned months prior about the risk of a major ransomware attack, MPs and peers from the Joint Committee on National Security Strategy stated. They revealed that the NHS was especially vulnerable due to outdated IT systems and inadequate investment. The politicians criticised the Home Office for prioritising illegal migration and other policy over cyber security threats. The recent attack on NHS, which disrupted 300 million patient interactions and led to a significant number of cancelled appointments, has been linked to Russia-based hackers.
