Healthcare Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) has introduced its new HITRUST Shared Responsibility Program and Matrix Version 1.0, which provides a common model for managing privacy and security responsibilities between cloud service providers and their customers. HITRUST believes that streamlined communication and clarified roles will help healthcare organizations benefit from reduced inefficiencies and compliance burdens when working with cloud providers. The program is supported by representatives from major cloud service providers, including AWS, Google, Microsoft Azure, and Salesforce.
