HHS Funds $50M to Spot, Patch Hospital Vulnerabilities

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) has launched a $50m project to strengthen cybersecurity in US hospitals. The Universal PatchinG and Remediation for Autonomous DEfense (UPGRADE) program aims to reduce cyberattack risks by enhancing automation, vulnerability detection and remediation across various healthcare devices. The agency invites proposals from teams to build a vulnerability mitigation software platform, create high-fidelity digital versions of hospital equipment, detect vulnerabilities automatically and develop custom automatic defenses.
