HHS Data Protection Act would establish CISO office for the department

A bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives to establish the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer within the US Department of Health and Human Services. The bill aims to improve cybersecurity in response to the changing threat landscape and recent data breaches. It builds on the Obama Administration’s Cybersecurity National Action Plan and the need for a CSIO to focus on federal cybersecurity operations.
