HHS alerts field to critical vulnerability in Cisco emergency response platform

The US Department of Health and Human Services has urged healthcare organizations to address a critical vulnerability in Cisco’s Emergency Responder communications platform that could potentially let cyber attackers compromise vulnerable systems. Cisco’s system, embedded in 85 million VoIP phones, including those in hospitals, could be used as a launching pad for more widespread attacks on an enterprise network.
