The UK government is cracking down on cyber attacks that cost £27bn annually through a new rating system by cybersecurity watchdog the Cyber Monitoring Centre. Overseen by Ciaran Martin, the system will rate attacks from one (least severe) to five (most severe). Each rating will be accompanied by advice to victims on how to recover and protect themselves in the future. The system is aimed to improve tackling, learning from, and recovering from such incidents.

The Cybersecurity Working Group (CWG) within the U.S. Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC) has called on the country’s federal administration to work
