Here we go again: 2023’s badly handled data breaches

Several organisations have mishandled security breaches, including the UK Electoral Commission, which hid a massive hacking scandal; Samsung, which did not disclose the scale of a year-long data breach; and French cloud gaming company Shadow, which remained silent after a data theft. Other companies criticised for their response to cyberattacks include Lyca Mobile, MGM Resorts, Dish network, and CommScope, which failed to inform its own employees about stolen data.
