Henry Ford hospital sees highest strep rate in 25 years

Strep throat rates at Henry Ford Medical Center Fairlane in Michigan are at a 25-year high, according to the facility’s director, and have been the second most frequent ailment seen in the emergency department. Similarly high rates have been reported at Children’s Hospital of Michigan since spring. According to CDC data, strep throat cases in the US reached a five-year high earlier in the year.
