Cyberattacks on cyber-physical systems (CPS) have led to companies losing at least $1 million each, with 27% of organisations suffering such losses, according to a report by Claroty. The major factors associated with these losses include lost revenue, recovery costs and employee overtime. The survey also highlights a serious concern with ransomware, particularly in the healthcare sector. Operational impact was also significant, with 33% of respondents reporting a day’s downtime. The study identified third-party and remote access as key sources of cyberattacks. However, respondents anticipate improvements in CPS security risk reduction efforts.
