The healthcare and public health sector is warned of a probable attack by NoEscape, a ransomware threat group presumed to have risen from defunct Russian gang Avaddon. The warning, issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Sector Cybersecurity Coordination Center (HC3), advises healthcare providers to implement standard measures against ransomware attacks. NoEscape, first seen in May, has targeted various industries, with over 30% of victims being based in North America.
