A cybersecurity awareness campaign started in Italy’s Lazio Region, aimed to educate healthcare managers about cybersecurity. The initiative, organised in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN), aimed at providing actionable strategies and distributing ACN’s healthcare-focused operational guidelines. From January 2022 to June 2024, there were 26 ransomware incidents in the sector, making healthcare the third most targeted area. The campaign, also including sanctions and a reporting obligation, will be rolled out across Italian regions.
