Health NZ reveals scrapped digital projects, says they’re unrelated to staff data breach

Health New Zealand (HNZ) has halted or postponed a series of digital projects including a patient information system and a child health IT platform. Amongst the 136 initiatives affected are an$11 million infection tracking project and various cyber security projects. Despite a recent breach of personnel data, the agency maintains that the deferrals and stoppages are not linked to cybersecurity issues. The projects were put on hold during a review of the agency’s data and digital unit’s budget.
