Health Insurance Complexities and Consumer Protections

The US health insurance system is confusing for users, according to a study by the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF). 50% of insured adults struggle to understand parts of their coverage, with those on Affordable Care Act (ACA) and employer-sponsored plans finding it harder than those on Medicaid or Medicare. Hispanic and white adults had more difficulties understanding their coverage than black adults. College graduates also struggled more than those without a degree. KFF found 58% of insured adults had issues with their health insurance last year.
