Ex-administrator of cybercrime forum Breachforums, Conor Brian Fitzpatrick, has agreed to forfeit $700,000 in a civil lawsuit related to a healthcare data breach. This highly unusual case is the first where a data breach victim will be directly compensated by a cybercriminal’s assets. Fitzpatrick, also facing additional criminal charges, is set for resentencing in June. His initial lenient sentence was overturned because it did not highlight the severity of his offences.
Kettering Health hit by cybersecurity attack
Kettering Health, a Dayton-based hospital group, underwent a system-wide outage due to a cyberattack, affecting its patient care systems. This potentially led to unauthorized access
