Half a million patients’ personal info stolen in massive health care data breach

The Center for Vein Restoration (CVR), which operates over 110 branches in the US, has suffered a large data breach, resulting in the personal and medical data of 445,000 patients being leaked. The exposed data includes personal identification information alongside medical record numbers, diagnoses, treatments, and financial details. Health data breaches are particularly damaging, as the permanent nature of medical records means the stolen data can be used in identity fraud and targeted scams.
