Hackers are attempting to exploit a severe vulnerability in the WordPress Automatic plugin, used by over 38,000 paying customers. The flaw could allow unauthenticated users to gain administrative system control of websites, through a SQL injection. Security firm, Patchstack described the vulnerability, present in versions 3.92.0 and below of the plugin, as “highly dangerous”. More than 5.5 million attempts to exploit the issue have been logged since its disclosure in March.
