Hackers target Taiwan with malware delivered via fake messaging apps

Cybersecurity firm Sophos has warned that hackers have been targeting Taiwanese users with PJobRAT malware through malicious messaging apps SangaalLite and CChat, which were available on multiple WordPress sites. The latest cyberespionage campaign ran for almost two years and is thought to have been aimed at a limited number of specific individuals. Today’s PJobRAT malware doesn’t steal WhatsApp messages but gives hackers greater control over compromised devices.
