Hackers strike again in Midland health services

Health services in the Midland region, New Zealand, were targeted by hackers, impacting some IT services in the Pinnacle group regional offices and general practices. Sensitive information may have been accessed, including personal and commercial details. Pinnacle, which serves around 450,000 patients, has taken affected systems offline and is investigating the breach with the police and other agencies. Patients are advised to remain vigilant, and although practices remain operational, there may be delays. The incident follows a similar cyberattack on the former Waikato District Health Board last year.
