A remote access Trojan (RAT) known as SnowDog is being sold on cybercrime forums for “corporate espionage and advanced intrusions”. The malware can infiltrate networks, exfiltrate sensitive data, and hide from security tools with stealthy execution and encryption. To guard against RATs, organisations should train their staff, isolate critical systems, use multi-factor authentication and deploy endpoint detection/response tools, warn experts. Authorities are now working to bring down SnowDog-related forums.
