Hackers Hammer Android and iPhone Users As Bank Account Attacks Surge 258% in One Year: Kaspersky

The number of smartphone users affected by banking malware soared 258% in 2024, according to cybersecurity firm Kaspersky. The most prolific malware was Mamont, which had a market share of 36.7% and mainly targeted users in Russia and the CIS. Europe and Asia were hardest hit by mobile banking malware, while Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan faced the most significant issues with PC-targeted malware.
