Hackers Exploit Proton66 for Global Malware Attacks

Russian hosting service Proton66 is reportedly launching widespread cyberattacks worldwide, utilizing dormant addresses flagged years ago. Researchers at Trustwave SpiderLabs linked the provider to a surge in dangerous activities, from brute-force credential attacks to malware campaigns, ransomware, and Android-targeted phishing. The provider also hosts malware working out credentials, ransom demands, and data theft from major organizations. The cybersecurity firm suggests blocking certain IP ranges to mitigate these persistent and evolving threats.
