Hackers claim they’ve obtained 17 million patient records at PIH Health hospitals in SoCal, report says

Medical records of 17 million patients from PIH Health hospitals in Southern California have reportedly been hacked, disrupting services and causing some surgeries to be cancelled. The cyberattack led to difficulties in making or receiving calls and reviewing schedules; some patients have been unable to contact their doctors. The hackers threatened to publish the stolen data online if their demands aren’t met.
