Hackers behind cyber attack ordered by judge to return stolen NHS patient data

In June, Russian cyber gang Qilin targeted pathology services provider Synnovis, obtaining confidential medical data for over 100,000 patients. The attack resulted in cancelled appointments at two London NHS trusts and revealed outdated NHS IT infrastructure. An interim injunction against the release of stolen data was granted to Synnovis by Mrs Justice Stacey, who also mandated the hackers provide their full names and addresses. Some of the stolen data was reportedly released on messaging platform Telegram and website Wikileaksv2.
