Russian hackers from the Qilin cyber gang targeted pathology services provider Synnovis, obtaining and leaking confidential medical data of over 100,000 patients. After the hack took place, the firm received an enforceable, temporary anti-hacking injunction to prevent further unauthorised access. It was stated in court that parts of the NHS’s IT system are out-of-date and at risk of future attacks.
