A High Court judge has ordered hackers from the Russian cyber gang Qilin to identify themselves and return or delete stolen data after a ransomware attack against pathology services provider Synnovis led to over 10,000 NHS appointments being cancelled. The judge issued an anti-hacking injunction prohibiting further access to Synnovis’s IT systems. Qilin carried out several hacks since 2022, including an attack on Synnovis that resulted in the theft and release of confidential patient data.
