Hackers are tricking victims into scam-yourself attacks with fake tutorials, CAPTCHAs, and updates

According to Gen’s Q3 2024 Threat Report, the complexity of cyber threats is increasing, with AI both enhancing and fighting them. Scam-Yourself Attacks, fake tutorials, ClickFix Scams, and fake CAPTCHA prompts are all examples of deception tactics by cybercriminals. Outdated systems are vulnerable to ransomware attacks, and data-stealing malware, particularly on mobile devices, has increased. Smishing is the primary delivery method for these attacks.
