Hackers abuse popular Godot game engine to infect thousands of PCs

Hackers have leveraged the Godot game engine’s capabilities to launch a new malware, GodLoader, which has already infected over 17,000 systems via cross-platform targeting. The malware bypasses detections by executing arbitrary code in game assets and executing a crypto miner once loaded. Check Point Research reported the malware being distributed by the malware-as-a-service provider Stargazer Ghost Network via GitHub repositories.
