Hacked proxy service has already infected 10,000 systems worldwide with malware

BitSight cybersecurity researchers have discovered a huge proxy botnet, named Socks5Systemz, incorporating more than 10,000 infected devices. The botnet’s data bandwidth is sold on the dark web for cryptocurrencies. Victims are globally located, most commonly in India, the U.S., Brazil, Colombia, South Africa, Argentina, and Nigeria.
