The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates is using WebChart EHR from Medical Informatics Engineering to collect and manage medical information from field physicals on military bases in Kuwait. The system allows physicians to record and manage patient encounters in the field and sync the information with WebChart when Internet access is available. MIE is also developing an electronic telemedicine application for Maritime Medical Access, which will help GW-MFA Emergency Physicians treat crew members at sea and inform them of treatment protocols. The WebChart system has improved patient care and reduced costs for GW-MFA.
