Cannabis products can pose severe medical risks when combined with commonly used medications such as blood thinners and antidepressants, particularly for seniors. Product labels fail to warn consumers of such dangers. According to a Canadian Pharmacist Association survey, 61% of medical cannabis users are self-medicating with no medical oversight. The association recommends pharmacists be involved in the management and distribution of medical cannabis products, providing guidance on safe use and potential drug interactions.
