Guilford Police Warn Residents Of Malware Scams

Guilford Police Department in Connecticut is warning residents of malware scams that have seen victims lose thousands of dollars. The scams begin with an alert on screen and a phone number to call to resolve the issue. On calling the number, victims are scammed into providing access to their computers or purchasing gift cards. Police have advised that alerts for money or gift cards are scams and to contact reputable computer repair stores if an alert has been clicked on.
