Jennie Bromberg has not received an acceptance letter from the phd program in epidemiology at the University of Washington. Universities such as University of Pennsylvania and University of Southern California have also been putting their graduate admissions on hold. The major reason being the issues in funding, raising taxes and scrutiny on visas which has forced universities to reconsider their intake of students. Bromberg understands the choice being made and admits she will have to reconsider her next steps as times are uncertain. Enrolling in a European university is an option she is looking into.
Meningitis outbreak: Number of cases fall
The number of confirmed and suspected meningitis cases in the outbreak in Kent has fallen to 29, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has said.
