Hong Kong’s Digital Policy Office has requested a review of government departments using Oracle Cloud services following reports of a data breach. Reports suggest a hacker obtained six million data records linked to Oracle Cloud customers and requested a $20m ransom. Despite Oracle denying the leak, the office has shared the information with relevant departments and requested an urgent password change. However, Bloomberg cited sources who said Oracle had privately admitted to a data breach in March.
