Google unveils end-to-end messages for Gmail. Only thing is: It’s not true E2EE.

Google Workspace has introduced a mechanism named client-side encryption (CSE) allowing content to be encrypted and decrypted directly on a user’s device. However, the keys are managed by the organisational body, and administrators can view communications at any time, suggesting it might not fit stricter definitions of end-to-end encryption. It’s potentially beneficial for organizations needing to comply with stringent encryption regulations.
